Queen Anne's Lace by Jeanne Rockett
Queen Anne's Lace, 1982, Jeanne Rockett
Jeanne Rockett is an American artist. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as a former art teacher. She describes her own work as traditional. Her favorite subject is the Midwestern landscape, specifically that of Lake Michigan. Using "earth colors" in her paintings, she focuses on using color to capture the mood and setting of a place.
"Responding as a creature in God's creation," Rockett said. "I try to say something about the beauty of life and nature that is God-given."
In Queen Anne's Lace, one of her paintings from 1982, a rustic bridge overlooks a charming river scene. Cool blues and greens create a relaxing atmosphere that is typical of Rockett's artwork. In the foreground of the painting, the titular flowers sway in the breeze.
